No problems for Kruijswijk and Roglic in thirteenth stage

Team LottoNL-Jumbo has ended the thirteenth stage of the Tour de France without problems. Steven Kruijswijk and Primoz Roglic finished in the first group. They’re seventh and fourth respectively in the general classification.

Because Dylan Groenewegen didn’t finish the stage to Alpe d’Huez, the team didn’t have ambitions in the sprint. “The goal was to finish the stage without any trouble with Steven and Primoz”, Sports Director Frans Maassen said. “They were protected by out other riders. We didn’t have any problems during today’s stage.”

On Thursday, Maassen was riding behind Kruijswijk in the Sports Directors car. “I still have mixed feelings. It was a great opportunity, but it is what it is.” The team is looking forward to Saturday. The fourteenth stage will end right after the top of Côte de la Croixe Neuve, a three kilometres long climb with an average of 10.1 percent. “It will be ‘D-day’ again. Everyone has to go full throttle. Especially the last climb is really difficult.”
